Copyright Policy

ZhongYu International Education is committed to upholding transparent, ethical, and legally sound copyright and authorship practices across all its publications.

Authorship

All listed authors must have made substantial intellectual contributions to the manuscript. This includes, but is not limited to: the conception or design of the study; acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data; drafting or critically revising the manuscript. All authors must review and approve the final version before submission.

Individuals who do not meet authorship criteria but provided support (e.g., technical assistance, language editing, funding acquisition) should be acknowledged in the Acknowledgments section.

Author contributions should be clearly stated in the cover letter or within the manuscript upon submission.

Use of Artificial Intelligence in Writing

ZhongYu International Education follows the COPE position on AI tools in scholarly publishing. With the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI), authors must adhere to the following:

  • AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, large language models) cannot be listed as authors or co-authors, as they cannot assume legal or ethical responsibility.
  • If AI tools were used in writing, data analysis, translation, or any part of the research process, this must be clearly disclosed in the Methods or Acknowledgments section, including the tool name and purpose.
  • Authors remain fully responsible for the integrity and originality of all content, including sections assisted by AI tools.
  • Failure to disclose the use of AI may result in manuscript rejection or withdrawal at the discretion of the editorial office.

Deceased Authors

If a co-author passes away during the writing, submission, or review process, the corresponding author must inform the editorial office. A note will be included in the final publication to recognize the deceased author's contribution and status.

Authorship Changes

Requests to change authorship (addition, removal, or order) after submission must follow these procedures:

  • Before publication: The corresponding author must email the editorial office with an explanation and a signed statement from all co-authors confirming the change.
  • After publication: The same documentation is required. If approved, a formal correction notice will be issued.

Unauthorized or unapproved changes to authorship will not be accepted.

Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright of their work published by ZhongYu International Education. By submitting a manuscript, authors grant the publisher a license to publish, distribute, and archive the article.

All published articles are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. This license allows anyone to:

  • Share and redistribute the material in any format or medium
  • Adapt, remix, transform, and build upon the material
  • Use the work for commercial and non-commercial purposes

Provided that appropriate credit is given to the original authors, a link to the license is included, and any changes are clearly indicated.

Authors must obtain permission for any third-party content (e.g., images, figures, tables) not owned by them and not in the public domain. ZhongYu International Education reserves the right to reject or remove content if proper permissions are not obtained.

If authors are subject to special licensing conditions due to funding agency mandates or institutional requirements, these must be communicated clearly at the time of submission. Licensing exceptions are handled at the discretion of the publisher.
